Usage

Learn how the script works, explore its main features, and discover how to configure and use everything with ease.

Getting Started#

Quasar MLO Creator is a complete mapping studio inside FiveM. Everything happens in game — no CodeWalker, no Alt+Tab, no separate program — and the maps you build appear in the world without restarting the server.

Opening The Studio#

Type /mlocreator. The command can be changed, and a key assigned, in Settings (the gear icon).

The studio shows one card per tool, plus your saved projects. When you pick a tool that works in the world, its panel docks on the left of the screen.

Press ALT to switch between moving your character and using the mouse in the panel.

Projects#

How They Work#

Everything you make is a project, saved in the database. You can close the game, come back, open the project and carry on exactly where you left off.

Projects are never lost when you update the script.

Export vs Build#

Every project has two buttons, and they do different things:

Button	What it does
Export	Writes the files. Nothing appears in the world yet
Build	Puts the map into the world for every player, live, with no restart

Export alone does nothing visible. If you exported and went looking for your map in game, the step you are missing is Build.

One Editor At A Time#

Two people cannot edit the same project. The second one gets a warning.

Building#

What To Expect#

When you press Build, the screen fades and you are moved to a safe spot far away. This is normal.

Press E when told to. You come back exactly where you were, with the map in place.

Every player online goes through the same short fade.

The world does not update until you press E. If nothing changed after a build, that is almost always why.

Rules During A Build#

Do not restart the server.
Do not disconnect.

The Tools#

MLO Creator#

Makes an interior from nothing. You don't model it — you paint it.

New project, give it a name.
Aim at the wall of a building and place the entrance door with left click. Arrow keys move it along the wall.
Paint the floor. The walls come up on their own.
Add doors, windows and stairs from the panel.
Pick textures.
Finish interior, then Build.

Place the entrance on a real outside wall. An entrance that sits inside another MLO will not work.

MLO Editor#

Furnishes an interior — yours, or any MLO on the server.

Stand inside the interior and open the tool.
Pick a prop from the catalogue. It drops where you look. Move and rotate it with the gizmo.
Add doors and lights the same way.
Export, then Build.

The original MLO is never changed. Everything goes into a copy — and removing your project puts the interior back exactly the way it was.

Ymap#

Places things outdoors.

Then Export, then Build.

Collision Cutter#

Opens buildings the game keeps closed, so you can put an interior behind a real door.

Stand in front of the building.
Look at the door. It lights up yellow.
Left click to take it. Click again to put it back.
Build. The door and its collision are gone — walk through.

If the whole wall lights up instead of the door, the game made that wall one single piece. Press Ctrl to fit a door-sized box instead, then Build. Only the box is cut, not the wall.

Maps#

Lists every map you built.

Action	What it does
Rebuild	Builds it again after you changed the project
Remove	Takes it out of the world. The original building comes back

Nothing is lost on Remove — the project stays and can be built again whenever you want.

Remove is also a build, so it runs the same fade and needs the E press to finish.

Occlusion#

Off by default, because it is still being finished. Turn it on in Settings → Tools if you want to try it.

Common Mistakes#

The Ones That Come Up Most#

Pressing Export and looking for the map in game. Export only writes files. Press Build.
Not pressing E after a build. The world does not update until you do.
Editing the files in [maps] by hand. The next Build overwrites them. Change the project instead.
Building an interior whose entrance is inside another MLO. Place the entrance on a real outside wall.
Cutting with the whole wall selected. You get a hole the size of the wall. Use Ctrl for a door-sized box.
Removing a map and expecting it gone without a build. Remove is also a build — press E.
Two people editing the same project. One at a time. The second gets a warning.
Looking for the Occlusion tool. It is off by default — enable it in Settings → Tools.
