Documentation
Fix City Builder problems fast: no permission, too far from the decoration area, objects not saving or not visible, stashes and wardrobes not opening, invalid object names and FiveManage photo errors.
What goes wrong most often, what it actually means, and what to do about it. Most problems come from load order, permissions or a missing token — start by reading the server console from the top.
The player is neither a framework admin nor in a job listed in Config.CreatorJobs with an allowed grade.
ESX: the player's group must be admin or superadmin.
QBCore / Qbox: the or permission, or the ace.
godadmincommandJobs: the job name must match exactly, and grade is a list of grade numbers — or false for all.
The example entries in Config.CreatorJobs are still there. Remove police and ambulance (or empty the table) and restart.
City Builder needs OneSync, ox_lib, oxmysql, screenshot-basic and ESX, QBCore or Qbox, all started before it. A framework that starts later is not found, and the resource cannot load its bridge.
The tables do not exist. Import [sql]/database.sql into the database your mysql_connection_string points at, and restart. Avoid XAMPP: it drops connections under FiveM.
The resource folder was renamed. Pictures are loaded from nui://qs-citybuilder/web/, so the folder must be called qs-citybuilder. For a single custom prop, check that its image URL opens in a browser.
Press F5 to toggle the cursor, then Esc. If the resource was restarted while someone was building, they may need to reconnect.
The camera flew more than Config.MaximumDistanceForDecorate metres (350 by default) from your character, so the builder closed. Walk or teleport your character closer to where you want to build and open it again — or raise the value, or set it to false.
You clicked an object that is already placed while the Objects tab is open. Placed objects are selected from the Stash tab — open it, then click the object.
Camera focus (F) only works in gizmo mode. Press M to switch.
Moving an already placed object is not saved until you press Save Location in its management panel. Move everything you need, then save once before closing.
Objects only spawn within Config.SpawnDistance (30 m) of the player. Walk closer.
The object was put away: find it in the Stash tab — it shows In Stash — and bring it back.
The console prints "This model is not loaded": the model no longer exists — a custom prop pack was removed. Restore it, or sell the object.
Config.EnableF3Shop is false. Set it to true and restart.
Correct behaviour with Config.EnableMoney = false, the default. Turn it on to charge and pay out.
The free camera looks like freecam or noclip to an anticheat. With FiveGuard, set Config.FiveGuard to its resource name; with any other, whitelist your builders in it.
No supported inventory was detected — it is missing or starts after City Builder. Move its ensure line above qs-citybuilder, or force it with Config.Inventory (see Integrations).
Your clothing script was not detected and the default bridge is in use. Fix the load order, or set Config.Wardrobe by hand — mAppearance always needs this.
In config/furniture.lua the type is spelled 'gardrobe'. 'wardrobe' is ignored. Also check that it has an offset.
All three are needed: setr game_enableDynamicDoorCreation "true" in server.cfg, Config.DynamicDoors = true, and isDoor = true on the prop in the catalogue.
The model does not exist on this client: a typo in the spawn name, or a custom prop whose resource is not streamed. Check the exact name in a prop browser such as PlebMasters Forge, and make sure the prop pack is started.
Another custom prop in that category uses the same model. Edit that one instead, or pick another category.
The prop comes from config/furniture.lua. Remove it from the file and restart.
Paste your token in config/fivemanage.lua and restart. The photo studio also needs the player to have Furniture Creator permission. Until it works, paste image URLs by hand.
Make sure screenshot-basic is started and up to date — replace it with the latest from cfx-server-data and delete the server cache folder.
On a slow PC, raise Config.FurniCreator.interval so the prop finishes loading before the capture.
Props are sent to everyone the moment they are created. If the builder was already open, close it and open it again. After a restart, a console line "Category not found" means the prop's category was removed from config/furniture.lua — add the category back.
Still stuck? Open a ticket and include the server console from the start of
qs-citybuilder, your framework and inventory, and the F8 console of the player with the problem. Turning onConfig.Debugfor a moment gives far more detail.
