Updating Weapon Skin Creator means replacing two folders and keeping one. Your settings live in the database, so they survive every version, and your data lives in its own resource, so an update never has to touch it.
What to Replace and What to Keep#
Resource | On update |
|---|---|
| Replace. Back up the files you edited first — see below. |
| Replace with the one from the same download. The creator and the pool belong together. |
| Never replace, never delete. It holds every stored picture, every finished skin texture and every addon weapon you added. |
The database | Keep. New tables and columns are added by themselves on the next start. |
Step by Step#
Stop the server
Replacing the pool under a running server leaves the players already in game on the old shells, so new players are held at the join screen until a restart. On Windows the files may also be locked.

What Survives on Its Own#
What | Why |
|---|---|
Every setting | Stored in |
Skins, shops, staff, tills and the catalog | In the database. |
Pictures and addon weapons | In |
Addon weapon codes |

The files you may edit are exactly the ones left unencrypted:
config/,custom/,client/custom/,server/custom/,server/webhooks.luaandlocales/. Everything else is replaced by each version, so changes there do not carry over.
