Fixes for the most common Quasar Advanced Inventory problems: the inventory not opening, missing items or images, wiped inventories, trunks and stashes in use, clothing, weapons, ammo, quests and the pause menu.
What goes wrong most often, what it means, and what to do about it. Most of these are load order or configuration, not faults. Turn on Config.Debug while you investigate — the console then explains what the inventory is doing — and turn it off again afterwards.
The resource folder was renamed. It must be called exactly qs-inventory; rename it back and restart.
qs-inventory requires ox_lib, MugShotBase64 and qs-inventory-objects, and a server artifact of build 4752 or newer. Make sure all three are in your resources and are ensured above qs-inventory.
The framework started after the inventory, or the framework is not the Quasar-edited version. Put ensure qs-inventory below your framework in server.cfg, and use the pre-edited ESX, QBCore or Qbox from Installation. Another inventory still running (ox_inventory, qb-inventory, esx_inventory) causes the same symptom.
[sql]/esx.sql resets users.inventory on purpose, and both SQL files drop and recreate the inventory tables. Restore your backup and import the file only on a fresh install. To bring over stashes, trunks and gloveboxes from the old qs-inventory, use Config.FetchOldInventory instead.
The web/dist/ folder is missing or was only partly uploaded. Re-copy the whole resource from the download.
MugShotBase64 is not running. It is also a hard dependency, so the inventory will not start without it.
On QBCore, items are read from qb-core/shared/items.lua, not from the inventory. On ESX and Qbox they are read from qs-inventory/shared/items.lua. Add it to the right file and restart. When a player's saved item no longer exists in the list, the inventory removes it at load and prints a warning.
The PNG is missing from qs-inventory/web/dist/images/, or its name differs from the item's image field (names are case-sensitive on Linux). Add the file and restart the resource.
Check that useable = true, that the item is registered with CreateUsableItem (or has a client block), and that none of its limits apply: job, level, useableIn, Config.BlockedItemsHotbar, Config.UseItemInVehicle. A decayed item at 0 % with delete = false reports that it has expired.
Items stack only when they are not unique and their metadata matches. Items with decay never stack, because each copy has its own age.
The weight is full, not the slots. Weights are in grams; check Config.InventoryWeight.weight. The limit per item in Config.OnePerItem also applies — the backpack family shares one limit.
It is listed in Config.notStoredItems (backpacks by default).
Stashes, trunks, gloveboxes and drops open for one player at a time. If a crash left one marked as in use, run /resetinv stash <id> (or trunk / glovebox with the plate). Items are not touched.
When you open a stash with inventory:server:OpenInventory, also trigger inventory:client:SetCurrentStash with the same id, or use the RegisterStash export, which does both.
Stand at the back of the vehicle (the front for cars in Config.BackEngineVehicles), make sure the vehicle is unlocked, and check Config.OpenTrunkAll. Bicycles have no trunk.
With Config.IsVehicleOwned = true, only vehicles in owned_vehicles / player_vehicles keep their contents. If a script changes plates, it must call UpdateVehiclePlate(oldPlate, newPlate).
Drops are cleaned up after Config.DropRefreshTime (15 minutes) without activity.
The clothing page needs Config.Pages.clothing = true, the freemode male or female model, and the clothing items in your items file (on QBCore, in qb-core/shared/items.lua).
The clothing shop is not calling setInClothing(true) when its menu opens and setInClothing(false) when it closes. See Integrations.
The appearance resource saves the outfit. Make sure it starts before the inventory so it is detected, and that it is one of the supported ones.
That is intended: the inventory controls weapons through the hotbar. A script can return the wheel with exports['qs-inventory']:WeaponWheel(true).
Its quality reached 0 %. Repair it at a bench in Config.WeaponRepairPoints or with weapon_repairkit.
With Config.OneBulletPerAmmoItem = true (the default), each ammo item is a single round; with false, each item is a full magazine. Config.ForceToOnlyOneMagazine decides whether a reload tops up to one magazine or adds a full one. Adjust ammo prices and stack sizes to match.
Add it to Config.CustomWeapons with its components and attachment items, and make sure its name is identical in items, weapons and config.
The link must start with http:// or https:// and point straight at an image. The weapon must have an entry in Config.WeaponTints.
UpdateQuestProgress returns false when the quest was never created for that player, is already finished, or the player's level is below requiredLevel. Create the quest after the character loads, and remember that progress is added up to 100.
Check Config.Pages.quest and Config.Pages.skill.
Check Config.Pages.pause_menu and Config.UseInventoryPauseMenuByDefault. If a player rebound the pausemenu key in their FiveM settings, it follows their choice.
