How the Maps Fit In#
The four maps of Foundations Living run no code: they have no config, no commands and no exports. They give your server the place, and your existing scripts give it the gameplay. Any script that takes a coordinate — a job, a stash, a shop, a garage, a door lock, a blip — works with them, on any framework.
What to Connect#
Script | What it adds | Where |
|---|---|---|
Job scripts | Duty point, job menu, boss menu, payouts. | Work room, main hallway, office, main hall. |
Clothing / outfits | Work uniform wardrobe. | The lockers rooms of the cabin and the power plant. |
Inventory stashes | Shared job storage, tool pickup, stock. | Every storage room. |
Door Locks#
Door lock scripts such as ox_doorlock or qb-doorlock register a door by pointing at it in game. Restrict each door to the job that works there — the gardener cabin to the gardeners, the power plant to the electricians — and keep the front of the electronics store public during opening hours.
Add doors with the maps running. A door lock only finds a door that is streamed in front of you, so the map must be started before you register it.
Blips#
The maps add no blips, so they do not clutter the map of a server that does not use them. Most job and shop scripts add their own; if yours does not, a small client file in any of your own resources is enough:
local locations = {
{ label = 'Cottage Park Gardeners', coords = vector3(-949.91, 329.24, 71.34), sprite = 469 },
{ label = 'Power Plant', coords = vector3(532.98, -1617.27, 29.52), sprite = 354 },
{ label = 'Electronics Store', coords = vector3(52.50, -1597.62, 29.58), sprite = 521 },
{ label = 'Lumberjack', coords = vector3(1224.13, -1265.60, 35.30), sprite = 85 },
}
CreateThread(function()
for _, location in ipairs(locations) do
local blip = AddBlipForCoord(location.coords.x, location.coords.y, location.coords.z)
SetBlipSprite(blip, location.sprite)
SetBlipScale(blip, 0.8)
SetBlipAsShortRange(blip, true)
BeginTextCommandSetBlipName('STRING')
AddTextComponentString(location.label)
EndTextCommandSetBlipName(blip)
end
end)Commands and Exports#
There are none. The maps are streamed assets only, so there is nothing to call, nothing to trigger and nothing that can break another script. If a guide or a script asks for a Foundations Living export, it is asking for the coordinates on the Map Guide.
