Update Taxi Job from an older version: what changed, the removed config options and events, keeping driver levels and reputations, and the automatic database upgrade.
Taxi Job 2.x is a rebuild of the old taxi job rather than a patch on top of it: a new interface, server-side pricing and payouts, a cab picker, ratings, passenger requests, streaks and leaderboards. Your drivers' levels and experience carry over and the database upgrades itself — what needs your attention is the config file, and one file you must not lose.
Everything an older install had, and what took its place:

The old | A new interface. The job panel, the statistics and the guide are views of one window, opened at the dispatcher. |
A separate statistics menu with its own keybind ( | Removed. Statistics is a button in the job panel. |
| Removed. |
The client chose the fare, priced it and sent the price to the server | The server picks the pickup and drop-off, prices the fare and pays it only after checking the driver is really there. |
| Removed. Player fares are quoted, charged and paid by the server. |
Two duty tables ( | One, read through the |
Only | Added: all-time, season and daily experience and earnings, plus the reset, reward and winner tables. Created automatically. |
Any script of your own that triggered the removed events has to move to the exports in Commands and Exports. Paying a driver is no longer something a client can ask for — that is the point of the change.
Ratings still in memory are written to driver_ratings.json on shutdown, so stop the server before copying it — not while it is running.
Export the whole database with HeidiSQL, phpMyAdmin or your host's panel, and copy config/config.lua, config/translations.lua and driver_ratings.json somewhere outside the resources folder.
Delete the old qs-taxijob folder completely and put the new one in its place. Do not copy the new files over the old ones — files that no longer exist, like the old html/ folder, would be left behind.
Copy your driver_ratings.json back into the new qs-taxijob folder, over the one it ships with.
Open the new config/config.lua and copy your values across — the dispatcher's position, the spawn bays, the pickup, drop-off and illegal points, and your pay and level settings. Copy values, not the old file: options were renamed and removed, and an old file is missing every new section. The same goes for any lines you changed in translations.lua.
On start the resource adds the leaderboard columns to qs_taxijob — one Added missing column line per column — and creates the new tables. Nothing needs importing.
[qs-taxijob] Added missing column qs_taxijob.total_experience
[qs-taxijob] Added missing column qs_taxijob.total_earnings
[qs-taxijob] Added missing column qs_taxijob.season_experience

A key opened a statistics menu | Statistics and the guide are buttons in the job panel at the dispatcher. |
One cab model for everyone | A cab picker. Better cabs unlock with level and can pay more per fare. |
Fares paid on the meter alone | Ratings, tips, passenger requests and streaks on top of the meter. |
Only taxi drivers could talk to the dispatcher | Anyone can open the panel to read the guide and the leaderboards. Starting a shift still needs the job. |
A player passenger paid whatever their own client worked out | The server quotes the fare, shows the driver's name and rating, charges up front and refunds if the driver leaves. |
Levels and experience carry over unchanged. The leaderboards start empty and fill up as drivers work their first fares after the update.
Start the server. The console shows the Added missing column lines once, and nothing on the next restart.
Open the dispatcher's panel. Your level and experience are what they were before the update.
Drivers who had ratings show their reputation badge in the panel header. If it is gone, the old driver_ratings.json was not restored.
Run a fare and open Statistics. You appear on the daily, season and all-time boards within a minute.
