Deathmatch checks for updates every time it starts and tells you in the server console when a newer version exists. This page explains that message and how to update without losing your changes.
The Version Checker#
Console message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Nothing to do. |
| A new version exists. The lines below list the changes and the version to upgrade to. |
| Your copy is newer than the public one. Nothing to do. |
| The version service could not be reached. The resource still works normally. |
Files to Keep#
Only some files are open for editing. These are the ones you may have changed — back them up before updating:
Path | Contains |
|---|---|
| All your settings: language, marker, blip, maps, timer and showcase. |
| Translations, if you changed any text. |
| Framework, ambulance and inventory bridges, the FiveGuard hook and the quests. |
|
Updating Step by Step#
Download the new version
Get it from Granted Assets in the CFX Portal.
Stop the resource and back up
Run
stop qs-deathmatchor stop the server, then copy the files listed above. Matches in progress are lost, because lobbies live in memory.Replace the whole folder
Keep the folder name as
qs-deathmatch. If the download has a different name, for example with a version number, rename it before starting the server.
